AWING'S EFFORT TO DELIVER HIGH-QUALITY FREE WI-FI EXPERIENCE TO MILLIONS OF USERS

September 13, 2025

The Free Service Behind the “Paid” Efforts from AWING

Nowadays, Vietnam is a country with the world's top quality Wi-Fi system, which is loved and widely used everywhere. However, back in 2017, the Wi-Fi quality seemed to be very bad and made customers afraid to use it.

Why was there such a breakthrough? It was precisely because of the support of customers, together with AWING's technological innovation and the lucky opportunity of successfully applying the sharing economy model.

Building a high-quality Wi-Fi system is difficult and costly, because:

  • High investment & operating costs due to having to build a network spanning many locations across the country
  • Free service comes with the requirement of high quality experience
  • Operation is difficult and complicated without a solid, technologically savvy team.

There, the venue owners (which we call “partners” such as shops, shopping malls, airports, etc.) will invest in high-quality Wi-Fi systems themselves, join the AWING platform to form a large advertising network. Therefore, there is an opportunity to be sponsored by brands, AWING shares this revenue with partners, to continue to reinvest and upgrade services.

Common problems customers encounter when connecting to free Wi-Fi

In fact, the free Wi-Fi on the AWING network is always of high quality and meets the needs of customers. However, that has also formed a habit of a perfect service experience, leading to us being a bit harsh when encountering some small problems. Specifically as follows:

  • Intermittent Internet connection: Due to a cable break that lasted for many hours, the network connection was interrupted.
  • Device overload: When too many devices are connected at the same time, the Internet speed may be reduced due to the Wi-Fi system being overloaded. This can also sometimes happen when customers use mobile networks, specifically the network quality may decrease from 5G, 4G to 3G, E.
  • Network not designed for business: The standard Wi-Fi network system that partners on AWING's network are not designed to serve some specific tasks of businesses such as supporting VPN, remote internal network... Therefore, if you encounter this situation, please sympathize and use another device to access.
  • Special software: Many computers install special features that do not support standard protocols of public Internet networks, so when connecting to free Wi-Fi, they encounter some unexpected problems.

However, we (AWING and partners) are always confident in our commitment to have, are and will support to fix all problems and promptly answer questions to customers. We hope that this article will be widely shared by readers to help customers feel secure when using public Internet services.

We sincerely thank customers for their understanding and patience during the use of the service.
